Scalar Solutions is seeking a highly talented SAS Programmer to join our growing team of our clients in the Washington, D.C., and Baltimore Metropolitan areas to support mission-critical applications for our federal healthcare customers. The professional in this role will help solve critical business challenges with innovative use of technologies in the healthcare data and healthcare claims environment. Responsibilities:
· Use analytical skills to solve interesting and complex problems.
· Perform analysis, design, development, testing, and maintenance of software applications.
· Follow Software Configuration Management techniques and practices.
· Assist other developers with technical solutions.
· Drive enhancements, optimize performance and troubleshoot defects.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree or master’s degree in statistics, data science, or related field from an accredited college or university.
· Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
· Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
· Claims experience (Federal Agency or another Healthcare ex)
· Several years of solid experience working with SAS Viya, Python, and SQL.
· Advanced MS Excel skills, including experience with Excel macros.
· Strong experience with documentation.
· Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively.
Desired Skills
· Experience with Hadoop and Hive.
